Fred Astaire was a very successful actor, dancer, singer, and choreographer. He is well known for his roles in musical films 0f the 1930's to the 1950's! Astaire starred in many films with actress, Ginger Rogers. Together they did nine films, such as Follow the Fleet, and Carefree.
Fred Astaire began performing as a child with his older sister, Adele. They performed in vaudeville acts and then moved on to Broadway. They appeared on Broadway performances such as Lady, Be Good (1924) and Funny Face (1927).
My favorite performance of Fred Astaire's is definitely when he sang "Puttin' On the Ritz" in the 1946 musical film, Blue Skies, starring Bing Crosby! I also loved seeing him in the film Easter Parade with Judy Garland.
