Kitty Kallen



Kitty Kallen was a popular singer during the 1940's and 50's. She is well known for hits like "It's Been A Long, Long Time," and "Little Things Mean A Lot."

Died: January 7, 2016, Cuernavaca, Mexico




Kitty Kallen began her singing career in the 1930's when she sang with the bands of Jan Savitt, Artie Shaw, and Jack Teagarden. In the 1940's, Kallen became the vocalist of Jimmy Dorsey's band. "Bésame Mucho," a duet with Bob Eberly, became a #1 hit in the U.S. in 1944. The following year, she joined Harry James' band, and had two #1 hits, "I'm Beginning to See the Light" and "It's Been A Long, Long Time." In 1948, Kitty Kallen married Bud Granoff. They were married until Granoff's passing in 1996. In 1954, Kitty Kallen had the hit, "Little Things Mean A Lot." Then, in the early 1960's Kallen had hits such as "My Coloring Book" and "Hey Good Lookin'." She received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 1960.
